IIRC Hewlett Packard used to have free downloads of all the software, PCB files, parts list etc for building a PDA. The specified screen was monochrome and only something like 160×200 pixels. Since it was way before the advent of cheap desktop 3D printing, an enclosure was up to the builder.
âTo be working with Sprint is really exciting for us,” Peter Cunningham, vice president of product portfolio at Bullitt Group, told Digital Trends. “We think Sprint are a perfect partner for us to help us grow our business in the U.S.”
On the hardware front, Unihertz has done an exceptional job ensuring this smartphone will be durable. That’s due in large part to the size of this gadget. To begin with, it is noticeably thicker than other smartphones but not to such a degree that it’s difficult to hold. A fair amount of that heft is because the components have been squeezed into such a small frame but also because the outer protective coating is so thick. The panels, edges, and corners feature extra grip to make it more difficult to drop too. Meanwhile, the small screen size and use of an unspecified version of Gorilla Glass mean that there’s not enough surface area to really bend or twist. The entire build brings to mind the original candy-bar style Nokias from the 1990s and early-2000s. It really does just feel indestructible because of how compact everything is and might even pose as much a risk to bare feet as a Lego brick if the company had used harder materials and sharper edges.

It is not uncommon for people to use the same password (or variations) across multiple sites and applications. Windows Hello and other biometric authentication features like Apple’s Face ID or Touch ID are designed to offer an alternative to passwords that is unique and more secure because it relies on technology that’s harder to break.
The approaching Windows end-of-life deadlines could signal disruptions in those businesses that have postponed the decision to migrate to a new mobile operating system.
Looks like you could remap one of the Fn combinations (maybe Caps?) to AltGr, though depends on how the keysyms are being handled. I’ll grant that probably does make typing more cumbersome though if your language makes extensive use of it.

On the hardware side, the device could also do with some refinement. There’s a weird wedge-shaped gap when the lid is closed due to the metal hinge, and while I don’t really care about it, practically everyone else I’ve shown the laptop to has pointed it out unprompted. The potential for bric-a-brac in my rucksack to mess up the screen means I’d have to keep it in a separate case. This is pretty much the only gripe I have on the hardware side, though, and that’s far better than having a dust-allergic keyboard.
About the only real negative thing we can say regarding the Armor 3 is that it’s on the heavy side. When you add the charger and various cables, the total weight of this device will be close to half a kilogram. That might not seem much, but for anyone trekking on foot, that’s a weight you’ll need to carry around with you everywhere.
Our benchmark tests (see below) revealed that it is slightly faster than most of the phones that use this SoC which we’ve tested, due to a little extra clock speed and the better quality flash memory in this design.
