Meanwhile when it comes to sensors, the Ulefone Armor 6 has plenty that its target audience should appreciate. Among other things, the smartphone is equipped with a p-sensor, an ultraviolet sensor, a coulometer, along with the other more common sensors found in current-generation smartphones. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with multiple special-purpose applications (e.g., Sound Meter, Pedometer, Bubble Level, Barometer, Protractor, UV Light Tester, Plumb Bob, etc.) that take advantage of the sensors, making it easier to access the phone’s full capabilities.
When the package containing our Unihertz Atom test unit arrived, it was small enough to be easily- confused for a smartwatch before closer inspection. In spite of its size, it does contain a fair number of inclusions beginning with the smartphone itself and a film-style screen protector. Buyers will find a USB Type-A to cornered USB Type-C cable under that as well as a wall adapter and a premium cloth tube lanyard. Finally, a user manual and a pamphlet outlining the 12-month warranty are included alongside a SIM tool. All but the lanyard are fairly standard inclusions to be packed in with a smartphone but this handset really doesn’t require much by way of extras.
The X1 Tablet feels like it can take a beating and will survive the rigours of mobile working, which is what it was designed for. The screen is great, and at 13in is an ideal size, the kickstand and keyboard are brilliant and performance is top-notch.
Pros: solid construction, good screen, brilliant keyboard, Thunderbolt 3, optional 4G, microSD card reader, fingerprint scanner, face recognition
Butterfly Network, a startup co-founded by an MIT alumnus, aims to make ultrasound imaging as simple and ubiquitous as blood-pressure or temperature checks — in hospitals and, eventually, in consumers’ homes.
There was a time, back in the 1990s, when a PDA, or Personal Digital Assistant, was the height of mobile computing sophistication. These little hand-held touch-screen devices had no Internet connection, but had preloaded software to manage such things as your calendar and your contacts. [Brtnst] was introduced to PDAs through a Palm IIIc and fell in love with the idea, but became disillusioned with the Palm for its closed nature and lack of available software a couple of decades later.
Its 2,000mAh battery is small for today’s standards. The phone also isn’t as resource intensive, though. They small screen, lackluster definition, and modest specs should keep it alive for longer. That’s all theory, and I wasn’t exactly impressed with this phone’s battery life.
If you needed proof that those days are well behind us, just look at the Cubot King Kong 3, a fully featured IP68 waterproof phone with a 5.5-inch display and an eight-core processor. And you get all this for less than £130 (or $160) – surely there is a catch?

Sounds like an overstuffed suitcase where you have too much clothing (Windows 10) and have to sit on it to zip it closed. Not even the extra RAM (6gbs total) could help here. I can see the long-term benefits to getting Windows on ARM but… Windows 10 itself needs some very serious trimming. The thing is a hog that’s still trying to do too much. Win10-ARM will only see real improvements if they kill legacy apps completely and do store apps only. That doesn’t seem to be the plan with MS counting on ARM chip improvements to make win10-ARM viable. Maybe it’ll happen in 5 years – all while Windows 10 gets fatter and fatter. In a different reality… would have been interesting to see XP (updated for 2018 with security) on ARM. Beastly speeds… But… the industry doesn’t want to sell standalone OSes to consumers anymore, they just “lease… Read more »
