Normal processes like checking email, going through social media, messaging, and requesting an Uber ride showed no issues. Of course, you won’t get the smoothness of a Snapdragon 845 when scrolling and opening apps, but the Unihertz Atom takes on every casual task with no hiccups. Once again, it’s usable. You wouldn’t expect much else from any device at this price point.

At this point, it’s really hard to recommend spending money on a Windows 10 computer with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. There just don’t seem to be enough benefits to justify the lousy performance. But I’m still hopeful that future Windows on ARM devices will smooth over the problem spots with software updates and faster processors: Qualcomm is already prepping a new Snapdragon chip designed specifically for Windows 10 computers.

Garant has two different blue structured light scanners in the shop. For jobs requiring higher resolution than the Eva, de Cosson can use the Artec Spider structured blue light scanner. The trade-off is a slower and more expensive scan. “That could certainly be a limitation for some people,” he says. “But the scan is much, much higher resolution. The blue light scanner from Artec has a point accuracy up to about 50 microns and a resolution up to 100 microns. So, that’s definitely a big difference.”

All these devices are designed for those with active lifestyles and can handle immersion in water and dusty environments. The price of the P8 is relatively low, but does it still represent good value for money?
