After plugging it into your handheld, it would tune into a local radio station and you could listen through the speaker or the attached headphones. The Boom Box Boy left a lot to be desired though. There was no way to tune to a specific station and it was always too loud. Worse, it covered the volume control when plugged in. Neat idea, but pretty awful execution.
