● Smart glasses are worn like standard glasses or goggles but allow the user to see digital content and holograms with which they can interact. Microsoft’s HoloLens and the Magic Leap One are two of the early entrants into the mixed-reality field.
The front-facing sensor is 13MP with an f/2.2 aperture, which frankly seems overkill for selfies. On the rear are two sensors with the primary one being a Sony 16MP and the secondary a 2MP effort.
Though it was mostly used by solo gamers, the Game Boy was built with multiplayer in mind. Indeed, when the handheld was first released a Link Cable was made available for people to play 2-player Tetris. Nintendo would later take it even further. An adaptor was released that let players hook up four Game Boys at once to play each other at games like F-1 Race and Yoshi’s Cookie. But the craziest Game Boy multiplayer experience was the FPS Faceball 2000. With the right number of cables and adaptors, it could run games with up to 16 players. For the 90s, that’s crazy.
The new CT40 clearly demonstrates Honeywell’s determination to push the envelope. Processing power comes from the same competent, brawny 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 that’s already doing duty in the recently (October 2017) introduced Dolphin CT60. There’s 2GB or 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 32GB of Flash storage. If more is needed, there’s a micro SDXC card slot that can handle cards up to 512GB.
Most “flagship” phones cost more, and are ONLY phones, so this seems like a decent deal to get Linux computer plus Android tablet/phone for the asking price.
There are some issues that the Surface Book 2 may never resolve, namely around how well Apple has pulled off integrating its various devices. I miss being able to answer phone calls to my iPhone and respond to text messages from my computer. It sounds like a small niggle, but I also use Ecamm’s Call Recorder to record important calls through FaceTime on my Mac, so I also lost that benefit. Microsoft unveiled a solution at the Build conference last month called “Your Phone” that could provide an answer, mirroring the smartphone onto the computer screen. The software will offer seamless integration with Android, but iOS’ closed-off approach to the world means it may never offer the same level of support to iPhone users.
Audio with the Atom is very poor. That’s not to say it isn’t loud but, aside from eyesight related problems users might have with this smartphone, it is not high-quality in any sense of the word. Bass is nearly non-existent and high-tones are tinny. This is not an Android device for audiophiles. Audio quality over headphones or Bluetooth is as good as can be expected but there’s no specialty hardware there either. So the Atom shouldn’t be expected to produce the high-fidelity noise of modern flagships or even some mid-range devices.
I’m glad they’re trying new things too but it’s still way overpriced and setup to fail almost intentionally. Not even Microsoft is truly committed to Windows On ARM. Their Surface Go is further evidence of their lack of commitment to WoA. As Brad mentioned, you can get a comparably priced Surface device that has more features across the board including LTE support in some models and battery life that’s close enough to these devices. That’s just the more premium Surface devices, I’m sure there are OEM devices that also offer everything this has to offer but cheaper. Also there will be an LTE version of the Surface Go soon too. LTE and roughly 20% battery for $200 levels of performance is not going to get people to buy this device. It has to be priced competitively. The Xbox One had a slow start because it was priced $100 more than… Read more »
Haha, a phone-sized device can have full height arrow keys yet most laptop makers slavishly follow Apple with half height arrow keys…
It’s safe to say the MacBook Pro may have given Microsoft an opening. Tim Cook’s latest laptop has left users wondering why the keyboard is defeated by specks of dust, why the touchpad makes “crunching noises,” and why one user found it “randomly powers off every 15 minutes.”

Consequently, they continued their policy of attrition, adding a new weapon to their arsenal, the anti-personnel Frog-7 cluster-bomb missile. By these means, the Soviets were inflicting combat deaths on the Mujahidin at a ratio of better than thirty-to-one. They were also successful in building up the Soviet-backed People’s Democratic Army (PDA) to 302,000 by 1986.
