Panasonic has launched two of its rugged Toughbook devices, ToughBook FZ-T1 and Toughbook FZ-L1, in the country starting at Rs 60,000. The price of the device is going to vary depending on the features and customization options.

The Gemini is the most luxurious of all. Spec wise, it’s a smartphone with a keyboard: 6-inch, 1080p 18:9 screen, Mediatek Helio X27 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage plus a MicroSD card. The third-generation Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet starts at £1,480 with a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and keyboard and tops out at £2,422 with all the options.

We’ve reviewed Cat phones before, most recently the flagship Cat S61, which packs a thermal imaging camera, an air quality sensor, and some other specialist tools for professionals, but it costs $1,000. The Cat S48c is a simpler prospect, but also much cheaper at $480 plus tax. Microsoft has also given support to the latest version of the security protocol, FIDO2. This lets users access standards-based devices such as USB security keys that offer an extra layer of protection when signing in to Microsoft accounts.

So Palm’s entire raison d’etre stems from the mainline smartphone makers’ abandonment of the comparatively small-handed, or just people who prefer smaller devices. Those folks shouldn’t have to pay a $349+ premium just to have a device that better suits their needs — there should be both high-end smartphones small and large alike, just like Mazda makes both the Miata and the seven-passenger CX-9. Remember when miniaturization was seen as the height of technological progress? Let’s resurrect that ethos. And when it comes to the phablet fans and the mini-phone stans, let there be peace in our time.

Section 16. Entire Agreement. A $200 Celeron laptop would not be able to deliver any of those things. You can’t even get a decent 10-inch HD tablet for that price.

Our advice would be that you shouldn’t panic if the phone gets wet or dusty. But conversely, it probably isn’t prudent to explore the practical limits of its environmental protection.
