Overall, given the cost of this phone, the features present are above and beyond what we’d expect, and make for a generally serviceable device that should have a decent lifespan if not flagrantly abused.

The Toshiba AR100 Head Mounted Display weighs less than two ounces and features an integrated micro display with a viewing experience equivalent to a 4.1-inch display seen at 14 inches. It has an integrated touchpad, GPS, three-axis accelerometer with a gyroscope for head tracking, 5MP POV camera, speaker and dual noise-cancelling microphones.

It’s also pretty cool to see your battery level dip below 30 percent and know that you’ve probably still got a few hours of battery life left.

One strong point that came out of the tests were the very strong battery life scores, revealing that this phone should last a very long time on standby, and also have an extended operating life. That fits well with the adventurer-friendly nature of the design.

At this point, it’s really hard to recommend spending money on a Windows 10 computer with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. There just don’t seem to be enough benefits to justify the lousy performance. But I’m still hopeful that future Windows on ARM devices will smooth over the problem spots with software updates and faster processors: Qualcomm is already prepping a new Snapdragon chip designed specifically for Windows 10 computers.
