My first one was a Palm IIIxe, then later went to a Zire 71 (good screen and camera for its era) and then to a TX. I used the TX whenever I traveled because I could use the WiFi to email or browse the internet. I also really liked the desktop application. Using it could use your Palm was a “flash drive” for taking files home to work on.
Toughbook as a Service Panasonic launched its new Toughbook-as-a-Service earlier this year. It’s a unique, interest free, monthly payment model for rugged devices. Businesses can now equip their mobile workforces with any rugged Panasonic Toughbook notebook, tablet or handheld device without having to worry about large upfront costs in capital expenditure.
When you combine great battery life and an acceptable camera, the King Kong 3 represents remarkable value for money, and is a decent travel phone for many international destinations.

“Adoption is widespread and increasing, and the amount of access to the data and how it’s being used has made a leap,” Stubbs says. “Data comes from so many disparate systems, and now there’s business intelligence and analytics that can take all that data, whether scanning, voice, automation or sensors on machinery, and roll up that critical data into a system that allows people to use information better and more efficiently.”
As you might guess, the Surface Go isn’t a killer at 3D-accelerated applications, either. No detachable tablet is, really, as professional or hobby-grade 3D readiness is the realm of gaming laptops, mobile workstations, or the uncommon general-use laptop that includes a discrete graphics card. None of the Go’s competitors is 3D- or gaming-ready, worth keeping in mind if you work with 3D models or rendering and were hoping to use a device like this while on the move.
"With the rapid advances in design and functionality of mobile devices and the resulting productivity gains for mobile workforces, businesses are keen to keep up to date with the latest developments," said Kevin Jones, Managing Director for the Panasonic Mobile Solution Business in Europe. "This is resulting in an expensive capital expenditure every two-three years. But buyers are telling us that they would much rather move to a new subscription-based model, similar to the growing popularity of software as a service. Panasonic’s new Toughbook as a Service Solution helps our current and future customers overcome this challenge."

The Android Oreo 8.1 installation on this phone purrs along nicely with 4GB of RAM, and the 64GB of standard storage can handle lots of apps and data before you need to consider adding a microSD card.
"Most of the technologies that exist out there we can turn into something we can put into the patient’s hands, I think that [the challenge] is more about shrinking the technologies that exist. A lot of the things that a physician can do in a regular exam room we put in a Tricorder. Labs and radiology — that’s the difficult thing to shrink down into a Tricorder," Basil Leaf Technologies’ Charron says.
The camera hardware used in OUKITEL’s WP1 is relatively common for smartphones in both the budget and mid-range categories but that doesn’t mean it’s terrible. Sensor technology has come a long way over the past several years, with even cheaper cameras performing pretty well. Color capture here is pretty accurate and remains so even in fairly poor lighting conditions but we did notice some serious oversaturation at the other extreme. There is, of course, still plenty of noise in low-light snaps but not to such a degree as is often seen at the lower end of the market. Those shots won’t be nearly as bright as those captured with most flagships but it is good to see that there is some improvement there. Focusing is also a bit quicker than typically seen in the price bracket and the UI is generally very smooth.
Speaking of phones, this thing has the kind of hardware you’d expect from a phone, not a notebook. It sports a 6 inch, 2160 x 1080 pixel display, a MediaTek Helio X27 deca-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
