Performance isn’t everything. As Brad says, for someone who’s looking for an HD Windows system in a decent 2-in-1 design with a long lasting battery and 4G connectivity (which doesn’t come cheap in regular Windows laptops), then as long as you’re not a power user, you’ll be fine.
The prize, launched in 2011, was won last year by Basil Leaf Technologies with a device called DxtER, a small unit with a range of specific medical peripherals, including a sensor for heart and lung sounds, an ECG monitor for measuring heart rate and rhythm, and a device for analysing blood glucose and white cell count, a sign of infection and inflammation when raised.

These software tools make it easier to deploy and provision devices, update hardware, spot security problems, and troubleshoot or remotely repair devices on the shop floor or in the field.
The technologies being developed and deployed are very repeatable for the SMB space, Stubbs says. The combination of warehouse management software with warehouse execution and/or warehouse control systems allow users to marry up human tasks with automation, he adds, and all of it is scalable.
“The majority of customers have seen the light, and are making progress and thinking proactively,” he said. “Larger customers have the focus but need the budget. Smaller operations might think if it’s not broken don’t fix it, but if they’re not proactive and a device fails, sooner or later they could get stuck in a difficult place. Maybe not this year or even the next, but down the road they will have issues.”
Here’s everything we’ve heard about the Blackview BV5500 so far through its IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810G certification.
