The silver lining to the low storage speed is that the Kong 3 is remarkably frugal when it comes to power consumption: it managed nearly the same battery score as the S80, a phone with a 10,080mAh battery, whereas the King Kong 3 only has 6,000mAh of capacity.

The software environment on the Unihertz Atom is as one might expect from a near stock installation of Android 8.1 Oreo. Aside from an additional settings menu item, called ‘Smart Assistant’, everything is as it should be on the firmware side of things. Under that menu, Unihertz has included a physical key switch toggle, an option to gradually increase volume on incoming calls, LED controls, flip to mute options, and battery saving features. That’s also where the controls for the reprogrammable red ‘PTT’ physical button are found. That can be set to launch any application while the power button can still, like almost any Android 8.1 Oreo smartphone, be used to launch the camera. The software experience itself is very smooth regardless of the relatively low-powered internals. That’s likely down to the fact that the internal components aren’t working quite so hard because of the phone’s size in terms of display output. During our test, the handset received one update that squashed some bugs with Bluetooth and other features. However, it is worth noting that the security patch on the Atom is still on ‘May 5 2018′, for now.

Ah, I always hankered for a portable device and finally took the plunge with a Tungsten T not long before feature phones became a thing (smart phones were still a pipe-dream) – I still resisted as long as I could (I even bought an official Sonic the Hedgehog game for it). To cut its ballooning delivery costs—money it was shelling out to UPS and FedEx—Amazon recently began contracting out its deliveries to scores of smaller companies, including the one I work for. Amazon trains us, and provides us with uniform shirts and hats, but not with a ride. Before 7 a.m., we report to a parking lot near the warehouse where we select a vehicle from our company’s motley fleet of white and U-Haul vans.

Insulet recently reported earnings for the third quarter of 2018. Revenue for Q3 came in at a record $151 million, representing an increase of 24% year-on-year. Operating income came in at $7 million, keeping the company on track for the first profitable year in its history. Gross margins have expanded to 67.5%, up 700 basis points year-on-year, an important factor of Insulet’s move towards profitability. Management has also provided guidance for growth for the fourth quarter, estimating revenue growth of between 22% and 26%.
