At this point, it’s really hard to recommend spending money on a Windows 10 computer with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. There just don’t seem to be enough benefits to justify the lousy performance. But I’m still hopeful that future Windows on ARM devices will smooth over the problem spots with software updates and faster processors: Qualcomm is already prepping a new Snapdragon chip designed specifically for Windows 10 computers.

It won’t take up much room in a carry-on bag, it fits on a tray table just right (especially minus the detachable keyboard), and even though the arrangement is not ideal, it can be used on your lap.

“Biometric fingerprint scanning is prevalent in the enterprise, but the issue is that it’s not readily used,” Moorhead said. Every major vendor has systems using Windows Hello, according to Moorhead, but market penetration is much lower than needed to start the process of replacing passwords for all Windows 10 users.

The primary camera included in the Unihertz Atom is a mixed bag. On the one hand, well-lit shots can turn out very well and color capture is unbelievably accurate but it also has quite a few shortcomings. Not least amongst those is the fact that even relatively tame and diffuse light coming from behind the subject will wash out the resulting picture with a high-level of consistency. Meanwhile, indoor shots are a challenge to take due to the size of the phone. Not only do the sensors begin to lose detail as light dwindles but the sensor struggles to capture images in those conditions because of how difficult it can be to hold the Atom itself still. We saw quite a bit of blur in indoor shots despite taking those multiple times. Of course, a photographer with a more stable hand or smaller hands might not have those issues and there are plenty of features as there would be on larger devices — such as HDR mode, filters, and other finer controls. Not every user’s experience with this camera will be the same but it was a low point from this device for us. The face-unlock feature, contrarily, worked very well even in low-lit circumstances. That’s not to say it is the most secure since it only utilizes a single camera sensor, making it impossible for more advanced face recognition features to be implemented.

Let’s face it, when you’re a college-educated 57-year-old slinging parcels for a living, something in your life has not gone according to plan. That said, my moments of chagrin are far outnumbered by the upsides of the job, which include windfall connections with grateful strangers. As Amazon reaches maximum ubiquity in our lives (“Alexa, play Led Zeppelin”), as online shopping turns malls into mausoleums, it’s been illuminating to see exactly how a package makes the final leg of its journey.

That said, it you do find yourself with an Asus NovaGo TP370QL, it’s not exactly a useless computer. There’s still a lot you can do with it, even if you never bother switching from Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro.
