It’s not too hard to adjust my workflow so that I can use the apps that are available. But if my only PC were a Windows 10 S machine I wouldn’t be able to use my accounting software, do any podcast or video editing, or complex image editing (unless I learned to use something other than GIMP, which I’m too lazy to do at the moment).

“UPSNav is not a conventional navigation platform like those that guide drivers in their personal vehicles from the front door of Address A to the front door of Address B,” said Juan Perez, UPS chief information and engineering officer. “UPS drivers make an average of 125 stops each day. They often drive to customer locations that are not visible from the main road or through traditionally available mapping technology. UPSNav was built for the heavy and complex UPS workload.”

However, the angled nature of the keyboard, when attached to the screen magnetically, does have a little give to it, because there’s nothing supporting the keyboard between the screen and the front edge. This creates a slight natural sag, and the Alcantara surface flexes in just a little when you press on a key. It’s not pronounced, and it doesn’t ruin the typing experience, but it is noticeable. Unlike the keys, the touchpad is generously sized relative to the whole keyboard, and it tracks very nicely.

The UPSNav tool can achieve all this by providing drivers with detailed turn-by-turn directions derived from UPS’s routing software, the Atlanta-based company said Dec. 4. The rollout follows a pilot project held this past fall, when UPS tested it on about 5,000 U.S. and Canadian drivers and saw good results, the firm said.

The Dolphin CT40′s display measures 5.0 inches diagonally and features 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, or 294 (dpi dots per inch). That’s a bit less than premium consumer phones, but sharper than anything available on a desktop or notebook, and also a good deal more than the retina iPads.
